The short answer is 12 ! In Fortnite, the number of Storm Circles in a match has evolved over time. Initially, there were nine zones that gradually closed at a slower pace, with the Storm taking less damage early on. As the match progressed, the Storms became increasingly smaller, eventually leading to the complete absence of a ninth Circle.
However, in 2018, Fortnite introduced the concept of “Moving Zones,” which revolutionized gameplay and fostered a more competitive environment. With Moving Zones, the Storm began to move along with the Circles, necessitating players to adapt and move together.
This significant change had a profound impact on the game, elevating the importance of Storms and Circles. Players had to familiarize themselves with different zone paths and adjust their strategies accordingly.
