How to get a Lightsaber in Fortnite
To obtain a Lightsaber in Fortnite, players need to find the holograms of Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, or Darth Maul on the map, interact with them, and walk through the Rift Gate that appears. Once through the gate, players will emerge holding a Lightsaber and a new Force ability.

The Lightsaber color received depends on the character that oversaw the training. It is also possible to find Lightsabers by eliminating opponents who already have them, but this involves more luck and doesn’t offer the opportunity to learn Force abilities.
How to use Lightsabers in Fortnite
To utilize Lightsabers in Fortnite effectively, there are a few key actions you can take:
1 – Press the shoot button to initiate attacks against opponents. Similar to other melee weapons, striking enemies up close will inflict significant damage.
2- Press the aim button to activate the block ability. This feature is particularly useful for deflecting gunfire, especially against weapons like the DC-15 Blaster, even at medium and long distances.

However, it’s essential to note that blocking may not be effective against close-range weapons like shotguns, making it less advisable in such situations, unless you’re in a Lightsaber duel.
Moreover, obtaining a Lightsaber from Obi-Wan, Anakin, or Darth Maul grants you force abilities. While wielding the Lightsaber, you can perform a higher Force Jump by double-tapping the jump button, evade by pressing the jump button while blocking, or use Force Throw, Pull, or Push by pressing the shoot button while blocking, depending on the ability learned.
Keep in mind that there is a cooldown period between using these force abilities. The recharge time can vary, with our Force Throw taking 15 seconds to replenish, but the duration may differ depending on the specific power acquired.
Where to find Star Wars Republic chests in Fortnite?
To locate Star Wars Republic Chests in Fortnite, keep an eye out for large black containers adorned with the white symbol of the Galactic Republic. These chests are relatively rare and can only be found in a limited number of spots on the battle royale island.
For two Republic Chests, players should visit the following Star Wars checkpoints:
- North of Shattered Slabs, at the convergence of roads from Seaside Sentry and Pleasant Passage.
- South of Meadow Mansion, southwest of Frenzy Fields, where the roads from Shore Shack and Mega City intersect.
- West of Slappy Shores, near the intersection, on the southern side of the river that leads to the ocean.
For three Republic Chests, head to the northwest of Brutal Bastion, where another Star Wars checkpoint awaits.

Fortnite Republic Chest rewards
Open Fortnite Republic Chests to obtain valuable rewards, including the new DC-15 Blaster rifle. These chests also contain same loot as regular chests like Medkits, Small Shield Potions, and Chug Splashes for improved survival chances.
However, beware of nearby enemies who may try to claim the loot. The DC-15 Blaster is a powerful, ammo-free weapon suitable for medium to long-range combat, shooting lasers indefinitely.
